ABOUT THE ARTIST:
I think Vic Bowcott comes from the Aldridge area of the West Midlands of England, from where I believe he marketed prints of his work under the name of Bowcart. I can only find a reference to a limited edition of 350 of a print of an impression of Lichfield Cathedral in 1640.

Dear APFrier,
Thank you very much indeed for liking Vic BOWCOTT’s watercolour.
It is a charming landscape of an area which is not often painted.
This may be because there is no main line rail access.
So, here we are rushing towards the autumnal equinox.
The sunsets here have been fabulous with many evenings seeing the sun sink behind Bardsey Island (Ynys Enlli), the island of 1000 saints.
I have not been idle over the silly season.
I am working on a collection of paintings by Alfred Keeley Brazier, the Barmouth artist who was one of the last group of four apprentices to be indentured at Coalport China Works, Coalbrookdale, Shropshire in 1911.
I hope to be offering a range of paintings and drawings of Barmouth, Flintshire and Denbighshire over the next few days.
I hope you had a pleasant summer.
Keep safe and well,
Best wishes,
Dai.
