ABOUT THE ARTIST:

He was one of he last four people to be indentured as apprentices to Coalport China Works at Coalbrookdale near Ironbridge in Shropshire. He studied at Coalbrookdale School of Art. He was conscripted into The King’s Liverpool Regiment. Dear ApFrier,
Thank you for looking at Alfred Keeley Brazier’s drawing of Harlech Castle. After reading lots about him and talking with people who knew him, I have come to the conclusion that painting may have been a counter to some of the things which he did not like around him.
As a former soldier, I find it difficult to imagine how a ceramic artist managed in the rough and tumble of a First World War Liverpudlian infantry battalion. I sense that it must have been traumatic to say the least. On top of that, the horrors of warfare in Picardy, roses or no.
I have now found a new challenge of including Buy Now buttons for all my paintings. It certainly concentrates the mind after mushroom hunting in the mizzle!
Keep safe and well,
Best wishes,
Dai.
